1oddday, on March 18, 1995, the Walt Disney company released a ground breaking Disney special event titled “Alien Encounters from New Tomorrowland”. The film, an hour long UFO documentary, was only broadcast once in syndication and for the most part not advertised.
🎥The Disney special was created to accompany the Magic Kingdom attraction,
“ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter”.
For decades the film was viewed as a “pseudo-documentary” by many critics, and skeptics of the UFO phenomenon - but this perspective has since shifted. 🏰
👽“Alien Encounters from New Tomorrowland” is absolutely groundbreaking. The Robert Urich hosted documentary presents many facts, as well as interviews. One of the many featured is that of Clifford E. Stone, a former Sergeant in the US Military, and UFO investigator (who would later appear on the History channel’s Ancient Aliens and Hangar 1)🛸
This would be the only Disney produced film to fall outside of the typical genre, that the brand involves itself with (excluding Lilo & Stitch)
