The 420 Mystery

The 420 Mystery

👽💨1oddday, 4.20, For decades, weed enthusiasts worldwide have gathered on April 20th to celebrate their cherished and beloved THC infused herbs. The holiday simply known as 420, is celebrated with gatherings and parades - honoring the magical plant and those that have fought for the right to freely enjoy its pleasurable effects, as well as its many medicinal benefits. ⛑️

But who created 420?

📖 Some believe that a book from 1939 - “In the Walls of Eryx” by H.P. Lovecraft and Kenneth Sterling - may have created the holiday. In the book the narrator discovers “curious mirage plants” very similar to cannabis that get him high at 4:20 (according to his watch). 🌿😵‍💫

⏰ Another theory is based around a group of California high school students from the 70’s - according to the legend, the group would gather every day at 4:20 and light up together. As time passed the tradition was passed down to others and an International holiday was created. 🫶

🤷‍♂️ Unfortunately the origin of this special day is still a mystery though, as no one actually knows where the holiday comes from, who created it, or what it truly represents. The good news…

THE FESTIVITIES CONTINUE 😶‍🌫️💨
